THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD: Dec 2008 – Jan 2009 John Spillers’ new pantomime Robin Hood has an automatic place in theatre history as the last panto and the last show to be staged at Shrewsbury’s Music Hall before the move to the town’s new multi-million pound Theatre Severn complex in the new year. Ben Nickless' Will Scarlett steals - and drives - the show with his contagious energy and hilarious stage presence. Jane Garner, The Stage 08/12/2008
LOVE IS......VARIETY: Feb 2008 – Oct 2008 Where impressions are concerned Ben Nickless takes some beating with his quick-fire repertoire ranging from Johnny Mathis to Michael Crawford. Roger Malone, The Stage: 03/03/2008 Ben Nickless was simply hilarious from start to finish, a real star at the top of his game. JonPaul Hedge, Herald Express: 2008
ALADDIN: Dec 2007 – Jan 2008 TV talent show star Ben Nickless shines in the pivotal comic role of Wishee Washee, he is undoubtedly the star of the show, lapping up his stream punchlines and constantly interacting with the audience. The comic relief in pantomime is often a trial rather than a treat for adults, but for Nickless is such a loveable figure that it would be a hardhearted viewer who failed to laugh at his prat falling and one liners, which even extended to the inevitable post-show guest appearance by a group of under-eights. Michael Upton, Rotherham Advertiser: 07/12/2007 Remarkably at first sight Aladdin and Wishee Washee could be taken for real brothers. Until they speak, when Ben Nickless' Lancashire accent gives the game away. As a gleeful Wishee Washee, he is a brimful of energy and exactly on the kids wavelength. Roger Holmes, The Stage: 14/12/2007
STRICTLY COMEDY & DANCING: Feb 2007 – Oct 2007 STRICTLY COMEDY AND DANCING - Special guest Ben Nickless is a talent to watch with his keenly observed impressions. It always adds a welcome added dimension to a variety show to have a good impressionist and Nickless fits the bill. His mischievious delivery celebrates such characters as Victor Meldrew, Hyacinth Bouquet, and a large part of the Coronation Street cast. His most hilarious piece was a duet between Boyzone's Ronan Keating and Stephen Gately. Roger Malone, The Stage: 29/03/2007
